We just got back from a relaxing 2 day break in Kimberley BC. We stayed at a great little B&B called Solace on the Mountain. B&Bs are the way to go. They are a boutique hotel experience for a much lower price. We were even lucky enough to have the entire place to ourselves since it was mid week.
I hit the slopes for the first time in 3 winters (not counting fake skiing in Dubai) and it felt pretty good. I only wiped out one and a half times and the one full time was more of an equipment malfunction (one of my skis popped off as the bindings were not set stiff enough for fresh powder skiing). I enjoyed what I skiied of the hill (the majority of the lifts/runs are still closed until more snow arrives) and will definately be back to Kimberley to ski again.
I need some new boots first. Mine suck.
